Applications for Trustee Vacancy

May 7, 2021 – The Village of Prairie Grove is seeking candidates for the position of Trustee to fill a vacancy on the Village Board for a two-year term.

The vacancy was created when current Trustee R. Saley resigned, we thank Trustee Saley for his dedication and years of service.

To qualify as a candidate for the appointment, the applicant must meet the eligibility requirements of the Illinois Municipal Code for the position of Village Trustee, including being a registered voter in the Village of Prairie Grove and a Village of Prairie Grove resident for at least one year.

 Those interested are asked to submit a statement of interest. The submission should explain why the applicant should be considered and what knowledge and skills they would bring as a Village Trustee.

Trustees serve at-large, meaning they each represent the entire community, not a specific area. The Village Board of Trustees regularly meets the third Tuesdays of the month, and members may also participate in budget meetings, strategic planning and other workshops or public hearings as necessary. As representatives of the community, Trustees also attend special events and other events of interest.
